Went for a walk with the OCAU boys again, this time in New Farm to try out my swanky new tripod! Also had a first hand look at a Canon 40D, and I have to say, it's impressive what you can buy for $1700 these days. Finally got a chance to take photos of the old Gasometer structure on Longland street. Yes it's been done to death, but not by me! Go 10-20mm goodness!

And now I know what a Gasometer is
Nice..
(you know the internet is getting too complicated when you have trouble figuring out what the letters are in the word verification thingy, *squints*)
Ta! New Tripod is dead sexy, finally settled on Markins M20-L and Kirk L-plate (got a spare universal plate for other cameras/lenses). Legs are older style benro C-228. alright for price, super light. Doesn't do the funky centre column stuff, but I'm going to get a RRS multipurpose/macro rail plate soon hopefully.
Love the Tripod!
